A wooden cube of side 4 cm has been painted with different colours. One of the three pairs of opposite two surfaces are painted with maroon, one other pair of opposite two is painted with silver colour. Out of the remaining two surfaces one is painted orange and the other is painted green, then the cube is cut into 64 equal cubes.
How many cubes have three colours maroon, silver and orange?

The correct option is C 8

From the figure, the small cube having three colors maroon, silver and orange are situated at the corners of the big cube because at these corners only three faces of the big cube meet.

All such cubes are at 4 corners on the right of the figure, so 8 cubes of three colors formed.
