Solution

The correct option is D 100%

Given,

Density of water, ρw=1000kgm3

Density of plank,ρp

Density of liquid, ρL=0.5gcm3=500kgm3

We know that,

Net force downward force = Weight – buoyancy force

Net force downward force = total weight – weight of water displaced

For equilibrium condition net downward force is zero

0=ρpVgρw(0.5V)g

ρp=0.5ρw=500kgm3

Net force downward force = Weight – buoyancy force

Net force downward force = total weight – weight of liquid displaced

For equilibrium condition net downward force is zero

0=ρpVgρLV1g

0=500×Vg500×V1g

V1=V

Hence, 100 % volume immersed in liquid.
