A work of 4900 J is done on a load of mass 50 kg to lift it to a certain height. Calculate the height through which the load is lifted?

Mass m=50kg

Work done=4900J

Step 2: Calculate the height,

When an object is raised to a height, the work done is equal to the potential energy stored in the body

Work done=Potential Energy =mgh

Substituting the values in the formula

W=mgh

4900=50×9.8×h

h=490050×9.8

h=10m

Therefore, the object is raised to a height of 10m.
