A worker charges a fixed amount for a fixed period and then chargers per hour. If he charged ₹ 5 when worked for an additional 2 hours and ₹ 3 when worked for an additional 1 hour then, what's the fixed amount he charges and the amount he charges per hour?

The correct option is B ₹ 1 and ₹ 2
Let the fixed amount he charges be x and the amount he charges per hour be y.

Given that,
he charged ₹ 5 when worked for an additional 2 hours.
x+2y=5.....(i)

₹ 3 when worked for an additional 1 hour.
x+y=3.....(ii)

Now,
subtracting (ii) from (i),
we get y=2.

Putting y=2 in (i),
we get x=1.

Thus,
Fixed charge is ₹ 1 and the variable charge is ₹ 2.
