Solution

a. The IUPAC name of [Co(NH3)4(H2O)Cl]Cl2 is Tetraammineaquachlorocobalt(III) chloride.
b. In linkage isomerism, co-ordination compounds having same molecular formula differ in mode of attachment of ligand to central metal ion or atom. Thus, same ligand is attached to central metal atom or ion through different atoms. For example, NO2 ligand can be attached to central metal atom or ion through nitrogen or oxygen to give yellow [Co(NH3)5(NO2)]Cl2 and red [Co(NH3)5(ONO)]Cl2.
