Charge/mass value for Ax+=2.12×107 C kg1
Since, Ax+ has 4 protons and 5 neutrons and the mass of a proton is approximately equal to the mass of a neutron. The effective mass of the ion will be approximately equal to 9mp where mp is the mass of a proton
Mass of Ax+=9×1.67×1027 kg=1.503×1026 kg
Also Ax+ has +x relative charge.
Charge of Ax+=x×e=x×1.602×1019 C
The value of charge to mass ratio for the ion will be given by
2.12×107 C kg1=x×1.602×1019C1.503×1026 kg
