Aarushi was driving a car with uniform speed of 60 km/h. Draw distance-time graph. From the graph, find the distance travelled by Aarushi in

(i) $2\frac{1}{2}Hours$ (ii) $\frac{1}{2}Hour$

Speed of car = 60 km / h.

$\because Speed=\frac{Distance}{time}$

Let distance = y and

Time = x

$\therefore Speed=\frac{y}{x}=60$

$\Rightarrow y=60xIfx=1,theny=60\times 1=60Ifx=2,theny=60\times 2=120\begin{array}{ccc}x& 1& 2\\ y& 60& 120\end{array}$

Now plot the points (1, 60), (2, 120) and join them to get the graph of line.

From the graph, we see that

(i) Now if x = $2\frac{1}{2}$

Then $y=60\times 2\frac{1}{2}=60\times \frac{5}{2}=150$

(ii) and if $x=\frac{1}{2}$

Then $y=60\times \frac{1}{2}=30$
