Aarushi was driving a car with uniform speed of 60km/h. Draw distance-time graph.From the graph, find the distance travelled by Aarushi in
(i) $2\frac{1}{2}hours$
(ii) $\frac{1}{2}hours$

Let $x$ be the time and $y$ be the distance travelled by Aarushi

Given Speed of the car is $60\text{km/hr}$

As we know that

$\text{Speed}=\frac{\text{distance}}{\text{time}}$

$⟹60=\frac{y}{x}$

$⟹y=60x\cdots \left(1\right)$

To draw the graph ,we need at least two solutions of the equation

Put $x=0$ in $\left(1\right)$

$y=60\left(0\right)=0$

So $(0,0)$ is a solution of the equation

Put $x=0.5$ in $\left(1\right)$

$y=60\left(0.5\right)=30$

So $(0.5,30)$ is a solution of the equation

$\text{(i)}$ given time is $2\frac{1}{2}\text{hours}$

$⟹x=2\frac{1}{2}=2+\frac{1}{2}=2.5$

From the graph ,

for $x=2.5hrs$ ,$y$ will be $150$

Distance travelled by Aarushi is $150\text{km}$

$\text{(ii)}$ given time is $\frac{1}{2}\text{hours}$

$⟹x=\frac{1}{2}=0.5$

From the graph ,

for $x=0.5hrs$ ,$y$ will be $30$

Distance travelled by Aarushi is $30\text{km}$
