Now, the mid point of the side BC be D(λ12,4,μ+22).

Let α, β and γ be the angles made by the median AD of ΔABC.

Then direction cosines of the side AD are

cosα=λ122AD, cosβ=43AD, cosγ=μ+225AD.

Since α=β=γ

cosα=cosβ=cosγ...... (equally inclined to the axes)

λ52=1=μ82

λ=7 and μ=10.

μλ=3
