Question

ABC is an equilateral traingle with side length 9 cm.
P, Q, & R, S trisect respectively the sides AC and AB.
Now Δ PUQ, Δ STR are equilateral triangles.
Again U1,U2; Q1,Q2:T1,T2:S1,S2 triset the respective sides PU, QU, RT, TS.
All the small triangles with verticles U3,U,Q3,T3,T,S3 are equilateral.
The total perimeter of the adjoining figure is

Solution

The correct option is D 37 cm
In ABC
BC=9CM
Since PQ and RS trisects the side AB and AC and the triangle is equilateral.Hence,
Since (AR+SB+QC+AP==12cm)
PQ trisect the side AC
PQ=3cm and similarly RS=3cm
Now
PUQ Is equilateral, So,
PU=PQ=UQ=3cm
U1,U2 and Q1,Q2 trisect the side PU&QU of the PUQ
Hence,
PU1+U2U+UQ2+Q1Q=4cm
Similarly
TT1+RT2+TS1+S2S=4cm
Again
U1U2U3,Q1Q2Q3,T1T2T3&S1S2S3 are equilateral.
And in U1U2U3,
U1U2=1cm(Since U1U2 trisect PU)
Hence,
U1U3+U2U3=2cm
Similarly,Q1Q3+Q2Q3=2cm
S1S3+S2S3=2cm
T1T3+T2T3=2cm
The total perimeter=
P=9cm+12cm+4cm+4cm+2cm+2cm+2cm+2cm
P=37cm
