ABCD and PBCQ are rectangle and parallelogram respectively as shown in the figure. If AQ || BC and area of the rectangle ABCD is 10 cm2, then find the area of the parallelogram PBCQ.

Area of rectangle ABCD=BC×AB=10cm2

Here, the height of the parallelogram will be breadth of rectangle i.e., AB and base is equal to its length i.e BC.

Area of parallelogram PBCQ=base× height=BC×AB
Area of parallelogram PBCQ=Area of rectangle ABCD
Area of parallelogram PBCQ=10cm2

Area of parallelogram PBCQ is 10 cm2.
