Question

ABCD is a parallelogram in which DCBandABC are in ratio 2:7. Find the sum of ABDandADB.

Open in App
Solution

DCB+ABC=180o
[Adjacent angles of a parallelogram are supplementary]

2t+7t=180o
because ∠DCB and ∠ABC are in ratio 2:7]
t=20o
DCB=2t=2×20o=40o

and ABC=7t=7×20o=140o

Now, DAB=DCB=40o
(Opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal)

DAB+ADB+ABD=180o
(Sum of the angles of a triangle)

40o+ADB+ABD=180o
ADB+ABD=140o
