ABCD is an isosceles trapezium such that OA = 3 cm, OD = 4 cm and the perimeter of AOB, DOC and AOD is 12 cm, 15 cm and 16 cm respectively, then find the perimeter of the trapezium.

The correct option is A 31 cm
Given,
ABCD is an isosceles trapezium
OA = OB = 3 cm (Diagonals are equal for an isosceles trapezium)
OD = OC = 4 cm (Diagonals are equal for an isosceles trapezium)

Perimeter of AOB=12 cm
OA+OB+AB=12 cm
3 cm+3 cm+AB=12 cm
AB=6 cm.. (i)

Perimeter of DOC=15 cm
OC+OD+DC=15 cm
4 cm+4 cm+DC=15 cm
DC=7 cm ... (ii)

Perimeter of AOD=12 cm
OA+OD+AD=16 cm
3 cm+4 cm+AB=16 cm
AD=9 cm

AD = BC = 9 cm ... (iii)
(Non parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are equal)

Perimeter of the trapezium ABCD
= AB + BC + CD + DA
= 6 cm + 9 cm + 7 cm + 9 cm
[From (i), (ii) and (iii)]
= 18 cm + 13 cm
= 31 cm
