Let total course content be $x$
Then course completed $=$ $\frac{5}{12}$ part of $x$
$= \frac{5}{12} x$
Course remaining $=$ $x - \frac{5}{12} x$
$= \frac{7}{12} x$
So, $\frac{7}{12}$ part of total course is remaining
