Let the depth of salt in the pot be 'x'.
Volume of salt cellar = πr2h+12(43πr3)
π×32(10)+12(43π×33)
=108π
=339.29 cm3
So half the total volume= 54π or 169.65cm3
We want to find x so that πr2x=169.65
π(3)2x=169.65
x=6cm
So the salt is 6 cm deep.
