Solution
The correct option is C Rapid turgor pressure changes
Venus fly trap is an insectivorous plant. It obtains nitrogen from the insect. It has specialized leaves to capture insects. The leaves have winged petiole and two toothed jaws. Upper surface of jaw contains hairs. The hairs are very sensitive to touch stimulus. When an insect touches these hairs, there is rapid change in turgor pressure. This results in closure of leaves and insect is trapped.
