No of protons equals atomic number i.e. 16.

Since -2 charge is due to gain of 2 electrons by sulphide anion.

Therefore the number of electrons increases from 16+2 i.e. 18.

No of neutrons equal mass no no of protons i.e. 3216 is 16.
