Solution

The correct option is A transfer of proton from acid to base
1.When acids react with base, salt and water are formed as products and this reaction is known as neutralization reaction.
2.During this reaction, the cation of the acid (i.e a proton/hydrogen ion H+) combines with the anion of the base (i.e a hydroxyl ion OH1) to form water and the anion of the acid combines with the cation of the base to form a salt.
3.Since, there is transfer of proton from acid to base during the neutralization reaction, the correct answer is option (A).
