It is true that the force with which the earth attracts the apple is equal and opposite to the force with which the apple attracts the earth by Newton’s third law of motion. When we mean attraction, it is an action of one body on the other. Now the attraction of earth on apple is equal but opposite to the attraction of apple on earth. Thus, Newton’s third law of motion is justified again which says every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
