In accordance to Mendel's law of independent assortment, the number of gametes formed in any genotype/ individual is directly related to the number of heterozygous genes present in pairs on homologous chromosomes (n). The relation is given as 2n, where n is the number of heterozygous gene pairs. In this case we have 2 pairs of such genes Aa and Cc. DD and bb are homologous pairs and will not cause different combinations on their own. therefore the correct answer is 22='4'.
