Solution

Tooth enamel damage :

  • Substances like chocolates and sweets undergo degradation by the bacteria present in our mouths.
  • These bacteria generally produce acid by degradation of sugar and it helps to corrode the tooth enamel which known as the hardest substance in our body
  • Hence, the degradation process of the tooth generally starts when the pH falls to 5.5.

Prevention of Tooth enamel damage:

  • The tooth enamel damage by the bacteria can be mainly prevented by brushing teeth with toothpaste in the morning and night continually.
  • As toothpaste mostly contain basic substance, hence the use of this helps to neutralize excess acid in the mouth.
