Acetic acid is a weak acid whereas HCl is a strong acid. Give reasons.

Strong acids dissociate completely, whereas weak acids dissociate only partially. The majority of the weak acid as remaining intact, which will be true at most normally used concentrations of acetic acid. If the same concentration of acetic acid and hydrochloric acid are taken, acetic acid furnishes less number of H+ is a strong acid in aqueous solution.
