Acid and water are mixed in the ratio $4:3$ to make a liquid. On adding $10$ more liters of Acid, the ratio changed to $3:1$. How many litres of acid and water does the liquid contain now?

Let $a=acid$ and $w=water$

$\frac{a}{w}=\frac{4}{3}$

$3a=4w$ $.........\left(1\right)$

Since,

$\frac{10+a}{w}=\frac{3}{1}$

$3w=10+a$ $...........\left(2\right)$

On multiply $1$ by $3$ and $2$ by $4$, we get

$9a=12w$

$40+4a=12w$

Therefore,

$40+4a=9a$

$a=8$

on putting $a$ in $1$, we get

$w=6$

$Acid=8L$ and $Water=6L$

Hence, this is the answer.
