Solution

No it does not. Neutralisation can also lead to Acidic Salt or Basic Salt.It depends on the acid and the base you use. For example, take Sodium Chloride. The acid is - Hydrochloric acid ( chloride ) and the base is Sodium Hydroxide ( Sodium ). Since we know that both of them are strong acid and base respectively, the salt will be neutral. Remember the following formulas:-

STRONG ACID + STRONG BASE = Neutral Salt

STRONG ACID + WEAK BASE = Acidic Salt

WEAK ACID + STRONG BASE = Basic Salt

More examples for Neutral Salts - Potassium Nitrate , Calcium SulphateMore examples for Basic Salts - Sodium acetateMore examples for Acidic Salts - Ammonium Nitrate, Magnesium sulphate
