Acromegaly is caused by:
Excess of growth hormone
Excess secretion of growth hormone i.e. Somatotrophic hormone (STH) by the pituitary gland in adult humans causes Acromegaly.
Deficiency of thyroxin causes cretinism in infants and myxoedema in adults whereas excess of thyroxin results in Graves’s disease and Goitre. Excess of adrenalin does not cause any disorder.
