Act on different bodies


  1. Action force and reaction force occur in pairs on two different bodies.
  2. Action force and reaction force act in opposite directions.
  3. On dropping a plastic ball on the ground with some appreciable velocity, the ball exerts an action force on the ground.
  4. The ground in turn exerts a reaction force on the ball which causes the ball to bounce.
  5. The direction of the action force is downwards and the direction of the reaction force is upwards.
  6. Clearly, the action and reaction forces act on two different bodies in the opposite direction.
