2. Self- Pollination: Transfer of pollens from the anther to the stigma of the same flower or a different flower on the same plant.
Cross- pollination: Transfer of pollen from the anther of a flower to the stigma of another flower on a different plant.
3.Cross pollination is superior to self pollination becuase cross pollination can bring new gene combinations and hence new varieties in the population.
In cross pollination two different plants are involved and hence different genes are also brought together. So chances of getting new combinations and new varieties is more by cross pollination.
New varieties are important for adaptation and in the long run can bring evolution in the population.
