Adam's apple represents
Thyroid cartilage of the Larynx
The Adam's apple is a characteristic feature of the human neck, formed by the thyroid cartilage surrounding the larynx. It is more prominent in males than in females, because it is a male secondary sexual characteristic that appears as a result of hormonal activity at the time of puberty. Through adolescence, the thyroid cartilage keeps growing together with the larynx, causing deepening of the voice.
