Solution

The correct option is C Thyroid cartilage
The thyroid cartilage is the one that supports the larynx on its ventral (front) side and a few parts of its lateral sides. The ventral part of the thyroid cartilage forms a subcutaneous projection which is known as the laryngeal prominence. In general, this projection is also called Adam's apple. The thyroid cartilage is made up of hyaline cartilage. Hyaline cartilage is a pearly bluish-white coloured translucent cartilage which is mostly made up of a dense network of collagen fibres embedded in proteoglycan gel. It provides mechanical strength to the organs.
The cricoid cartilage is a signet-ring shaped cartilage which is present below the thyroid cartilage. Arytenoid cartilages are a pair of pyramidal cartilages located at the back of the larynx.
Cartilages of Santorini are a pair of node like cartilages situated at the upper ends of arytenoid cartilages.
