We add the terms $4 x^{2} y, - 3 x y^{2}, - 5 x y^{2}$ and $5 x^{2} y$
Here we add the like terms first,
$4 x^{2} y + (- 3 x y^{2}) + (- 5 x y^{2}) + 5 x^{2} y = 4 x^{2} y - 3 x y^{2} - 5 x y^{2} + 5 x^{2} y = 4 x^{2} y + 5 x^{2} y - 3 x y^{2} - 5 x y^{2} = 9 x^{2} y - 8 x y^{2}$
$∴$ The addition of $4 x^{2} y, - 3 x y^{2}, - 5 x y^{2}$ and $5 x^{2} y$ is $9 x^{2} y - 8 x y^{2}$
