Aligning both the numbers according to Place value table,



For adding these two numbers we need to add the like terms of both the digits together i.e. digits at ones place will be added together, digits at tens place will be added together.

So, adding Ones digit first we get,



As, adding ones place digits we get "12 Ones".

But, 12 Ones =10 Ones +2 Ones.

10 Ones +2 Ones =1 Tens +2 Ones.

So, we will keep the digit 2 at Ones place and give 1 as a carry to digit at Tens place.

Therefore,



Doing the same operations for rest of the digits places we get,



Therefore, 6,789+1,523=8,312.
