Question
Add:
(ii) 2𝑥+𝑦 and 3𝑥−4𝑦
Open in App
Solution
Step: Find the value of 2𝑥 + 𝑦 + 3𝑥 − 4𝑦
We need to add (2𝑥+𝑦) and (3𝑥−4𝑦)
= (2𝑥+𝑦)+(3𝑥−4𝑦)
= 2𝑥+3𝑥+𝑦−4𝑦
= (2+3) 𝑥 + (1-4) 𝑦
= 5𝑥−3𝑦
Hence, the answer is 5𝑥−3𝑦.
