The correct option is A $9 \frac{1}{5}$
$1 \frac{2}{5} + 3 \frac{1}{5} + 4 \frac{3}{5} = ?$

Adding the whole number part and fractional part separately, we get
$(1 + 3 + 4) +$ $(\frac{2}{5} + \frac{1}{5} + \frac{3}{5})$

$= 8 + \frac{(2 + 1 + 3)}{5} = 4 + \frac{6}{5}$

$= 8 + \frac{(5 + 1)}{5}$

$= 8 + \frac{5}{5} + \frac{1}{5}$

$= 8 + 1 + \frac{1}{5} = 9 \frac{1}{5}$
