Steps : 1 Mark
Result : 1 Mark

Let Aditya have x pencils

Now 4 times the number of pencils which aditya has is 4×x=4x

10 greater than 4x=4x+10

Now, each pencil costs Rs 3.

Cost of 4x+10 pencils is

=3×(4x+10)3(4x+10)

Now, given that the total cost is Rs 162, we get

3(4x+10)=162

12x+30=162

12x=132

x=13212=11
