In this case, after throwing the die, there are 6 outcomes possible (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Out of these outcomes, favourable outcome or the outcome that is expected by Jack to win is 4.

So, number of favourable outcomes = 1

Probability of an event is defined as

P(Event) = Number of favourable outcomesTotal number of outcomes

So, P(Getting a 4) = 16
