Let the marked price of the fan be x.

After $15\%$ discount, price becomes $=x-\frac{15x}{100}$

$=\frac{85x}{100}$

After further $5\%$ discount prices becomes $=\frac{85x}{100}(1-\frac{5}{100})$

$\Rightarrow x\times \frac{85}{100}\times \frac{95}{100}=2970$

$\Rightarrow x\times \frac{17}{20}\times \frac{19}{20}=2970$

$\Rightarrow x=Rs.3678$
