After fertilization, petals, stamens, style and stigma wither away and usually fall off, except sepals in few cases. In such cases, they either shrivel up or dry up but stay with the fruit.
Examples: guava(sepals are extremely dry), tomato(sepals shrivel up), brinjal(sepals are intact and green)
