Let the first discount be x%.
Marked Price of shirt = ₹1500
Price after first discount $=\frac{100-x}{100}\times \text{Marked Price}=\frac{100-x}{100}\times 1500$
Again $12.5\%$ discount is given on the shirt after initial discount.
Price after second discount = ₹1050
$\Rightarrow$$105=\frac{100-12.5}{100}\times \frac{100-x}{100}\times 1500$
$1050=\frac{87.5}{100}\times \frac{100-x}{100}\times 1500$
$100-x=\frac{1050\times 100\times 100}{1500\times 87.5}=80$
x = 100 - 80 = 20
So, the first discount is 20%.
