Let the first discount be x%.
Marked Price of shirt = ₹3000
Price after first discount $=\frac{100-x}{100}\times \text{Marked Price}=\frac{100-x}{100}\times 3000$
Again $12.5\%$ discount is given on the shirt after initial discount.
Price after second discount = ₹2100
$\Rightarrow$$2100=\frac{100-12.5}{100}\times \frac{100-x}{100}\times 3000$
$2100=\frac{87.5}{100}\times \frac{100-x}{100}\times 3000$
$100-x=\frac{2100\times 100\times 100}{3000\times 87.5}=80$
x = 100 - 80 = 20
So, the first discount is 20%.
