After giving 25% discount on the marked price of a shirt, a seller still manages to make a profit of 20%. If the seller had bought the shirt for Rs. 360, then what must have been the marked price of the shirt?

Rs. 432Keep in mind that discounts is always offered on the marked price and profit is calculated on cost price. Here, cost price is given as Rs. 360 and he is making a profit of 20%.
Thus, his selling price = (120/100) × 360 = Rs. 432
Now, this selling price is arrived at after giving 25% discount on the marked price, i.e. it is 75% of the marked price.
Thus, marked price = (100/75) × 432 = Rs. 576.
