Solution
The correct option is D 4
The leaf peel is a thin transparent layer which
forms the epidermis layer. The leaf peel possesses stomata which allow the
exchange of gases in the leaves. The stoma or pores are surrounded by the
epidermal cells which take kidney shape structures called guard cells. The wall
of the guard cell close to the pore is thicker as compared to the wall away
from the pore. The increase turgor pressure pulls the outer wall which
causes opening of the stomata and thus thick wall is important for opening of
the stomata.
The above figure clearly indicates the various parts of the complex structure of the stomatal apparatus structure. So, the correct answer is option 4 which denotes chloroplast.
