Money spent for remodelling $=Rs.60,000$

$⟹$ Net price$=60000+x$

$SP=Rs.42,00,000$

Profit$=20\%$

$SP=120\%\times (60,000+x)=42,00,000⟹x=34,40,000$

Hence Amla spent $Rs.34,40,000$ to buy the house.
