Animal husbandry is the rearing of animals for milk, wool, meat, etc. Dairy animals such as cows and buffaloes are reared for milk. Sheep are mostly reared for wool and meat. Poultry such as hens, quails and ducks are reared for meat and eggs. Animal husbandry can be carried out as a side occupation along with agriculture as it is cost effective with high-profit returns. Hence agriculture and animal husbandry are both sides of the same coin.
