• Air is a mixture of many gases like Nitrogen (N₂), Oxygen(O₂), Carbon dioxide (CO₂), Argon(Ar) etc .
• Composition of these gases in the atmosphere is different for different gases like-

1. Nitrogen (N₂) - 78%
2. Oxygen(O₂) - 21%
3. Carbon dioxide (CO₂) - 0.04%
4. Other gases ( Argon (Ar), Neon (Ne), Hydrogen (H₂), Krypton (Kr) etc )- 0.96%

• Other than this, air also contains some amount of water vapours, dust particles, pollutants, etc.

Hence, Air is considered to be a mixture.
