There is tubular dorsal heart in cockroach. The heart is placed in the pericardial sinus. There are pair of alary muscles which are present in these regions. They are attached laterally to the walls of each chamber of the heart. They connect the heart to the walls of the body and the pericardial sinus. Peristaltic contractions of these muscles force the hemolymph forward from chamber to chamber. This helps in the circulation of the hemolymph in the body of cockroach.
