The correct option is B 20 minutes
Since we need an estimate of the time taken by Alex to travel,
we can first round off all the numbers to the nearest tens and then add them,that is,
2 can be rounded off to 0, 12 can be rounded of to 10 and 8 can be rounded off to 10.
Add all the numbers, 0 + 10 + 10 = 20 minutes
Alternateively, we can also add the numbers first, that is,
2+8+12 = 22 minutes
and then round 22 off to the nearest tens, that is, 20 minutes.
So the correct option is option B.
