Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Fill the 400 mL jar with water, and pour it into the empty 500 mL jar.
Step 2:Now, fill the 400 mL jar with water.
Step 3: From this filled 400 mL jar, we will pour the water into the partially filled 500 mL jar.Quantity of water that can be poured into the partially filled 500 mL jar = 100 mL.
The amount of water left into the 400 mL jar, after pouring 100 mL of water into the 500 mL jar = 400 mL - 100 mL = 300 mL.
