We can find the price of 1 pastry by dividing 36 by 3.

$36 \div 3 = 12$

Price of 1 pastry = 12 dollars

We know, the price of pastry = 12 dollars

To find the price of the burger, we will subtract 12 from 28.

28 - 12 = 16

Now, 16 dollars is the price of 2 burgers. We can find the price of 1 burger by dividing 16 by 2.

$16 \div 2 = 8$

Hence, the price of 1 burger = 8 dollars

We know that the price of 1 burger is 8 dollars. What number should be subtracted from 8 to get 3?

We should subtract 5 from 8 to get 3.
