All improper fractions can be represented as mixed fractions. Say true or false.
False
In an improper fraction, the numerator is greater than the denominator. Lets look at the below examples.
Example 1:
135 represents 13 divided by 5
The quotient obtained is 2 and the remainder is 3
So, 135=235
Example 2:
155 represents 15 divided by 5.
The quotient obtained is 3 and the remainder is 0.
So, 155 = 3
Therefore, we cannot represent all improper fractions as mixed fractions. But, we can write all mixed fractions as improper fractions.
