In an improper fraction, the numerator is greater than the denominator. Lets look at the below examples.

Example 1:

135 represents 13 divided by 5

The quotient obtained is 2 and the remainder is 3

So, 135=235

Example 2:

155 represents 15 divided by 5.

The quotient obtained is 3 and the remainder is 0.

So, 155 = 3

Therefore, we cannot represent all improper fractions as mixed fractions. But, we can write all mixed fractions as improper fractions.
