All kings ,queens and aces are removed from a pack of 52 cards .The remaining cards
are well shuffled and then a card is drawn at random .Find the probability that the drawn
card is (a) A black face card (b) A red face card (c) A number card .

Dear student,

Since all kings, Queens and aces are removed from 52 cards, remaining cards will be 40.
[because there are 4 kings, 4 queens and 4 aces]
i). Black face card
Probability = 240
[because there are only two face cards, they are jacks one of club and other of spade symbol.
ii). Red face card
Probability = 240
[because there are only two red face cards, they are jacks one of heart and other of diamond symbol.
iii). Number card
Probability = 3640=910
[because there are 36 number cards from 2 to 10]
